U3V: EARLY RENAISSANCE ART IN ITALY

The Early Renaissance brought to European art a new way of thinking, based on an interest in humanity, harmony, beauty and the exploration of the world. The discovery of perspective, the emphasis on realistic depictions of the human body and the return to the ideals of antiquity all played a significant role. The course will introduce the figures who were at the forefront of this significant era and whose work fundamentally influenced the development of architecture, painting and sculpture. Participants will learn about their life stories, their most significant works and the bold ideas that transformed the face of European art. The introductory session will take place at 12 noon, as per the timetable, to allow sufficient time for administrative matters, namely enrolment and payment of course fees. All subsequent sessions begin at 12.30. Course fee: 400 CZK.
