Kaplička Gallery: Jana Strejcová

The PLAC Association and Galerie Kaplička cordially invite you to an exhibition by Jana Strejcová, a Jablonec-based designer of original ceramics.

About the exhibition

The Mšeno Chapel is a place to which I have returned throughout my life. I grew up near it and watched as everything around it changed, whilst it remained the same. Both a reminder of the past and a part of the present.

In my work, I have long been working with a rhythmically repeated gesture – lines. Their rhythm and regularity have become, for me, a way of reflecting on time. On time that flows almost imperceptibly, and yet leaves its mark within us and around us.

The exhibition consists of two ceramic vases featuring lines. One draws on the history of the Mšeno Chapel, the other on my own personal history. Together, they explore the relationship between the enduring nature of a place and human life.

‘Translating Time’ is an attempt to translate something intangible into material, rhythm and repeated gesture.

After the opening, the exhibition will be on view through the chapel’s glass doors until 16 October.
