Be creative with Markéta Zlesáková

The ‘Be Creative with…’ series, organised by the Nisa Factory gallery, continues with a presentation of the work of painter and teacher Markéta Zlesáková. As part of a specially curated afternoon programme, she will present her sources of inspiration and working methods, guiding us through her intellectual and artistic world. The programme is aimed at all lovers of not only interior design but also the latest artistic creations.

She works with techniques such as screen printing, oil on canvas and watercolour. Her work is characterised by lush, dense vegetation that draws the viewer into the centre of the picture, where they find themselves surrounded by a primeval forest. We can trace a timeline of inspiration from the rural foothill landscapes of Northern Bohemia, through Thailand and Morocco, to the rainforest of Borneo, all linked by a key element – the artist’s memory.

She does not focus solely on paintings with natural themes, but also designs geometric patterns for textiles, ceramic tiles and prints. Her work continues to straddle the boundary between fine art and applied textile art.
