Description of the place

The Herzig factory from 1798 is one of the landmarks between Mšena nad Nisou and Rýnovic in Jablonec nad Nisou. In the last century, textile production was replaced by jewelry production. Thanks to the enthusiasm for history and tradition, the magnificent industrial premises are transformed into a center for contemporary art, science and technology, a background for a museum of glass bead making, creative workshops and art studios with a program for schools and the general public, including excursions into the contemporary production of glass beads. A permanent exhibition of glass beads and costume jewelry pays tribute to regional craftsmanship and tradition. The history and the present of this unique field meet here. Historical and contemporary glass machines are on display.
The Nisa Factory gallery was opened for exhibition purposes in December 2021 in the space of the former spinning mill and with its 800 m2 is a generous open space. The gallery aims to present shows of contemporary fine art in the framework of regularly held exhibitions.
