As is now tradition, we invite you to Tyršovy sady in Jablonec, where on Sunday, 30 August, at 3 p.m., the absolute revelation of Czech Dixieland will perform: the band Šouflšou from Čelákovice. This unique band is taking over the imaginary torch of the funniest Czech jazz band from Ivan Mládek. They are energetic and spontaneous on stage, and their own Czech lyrics are so uncompromisingly playful that they will delight the heart of every Czech language lover.

The event is part of the 12th annualJablonec TonesFestival.

The Šouflšou ensemble was formed in 2015 out of a love for Dixieland and Czech lyricists who masterfully combine humour and wordplay. The band's lyricist, banjo player and frontman Ondra Němeček draws inspiration from names such as Jiří Suchý, Zdeněk Svěrák, Jan Vodňanský, Ivan Mládek and Karel Plíhal. In addition to melodies inspired by New Orleans jazz bands and their own Czech lyrics, the third important component of the band is their energetic live show, interspersed with fast solos and even faster banter between the musicians on stage. Šouflšou, in its current line-up (banjo, trumpet, guitar, tuba, clarinet, saxophone and drums), has appeared in the Czech Radio and Proglas charts, which it won twice in 2022, and has performed at a number of festivals throughout the Czech Republic.
