Ladakh, or Little Tibet

The northern region of India is called Little Tibet because of its cultural and religious similarities to Tibet. The high-altitude Himalayan desert surprises visitors with picturesque traditional villages nestled in the mountains and a preserved way of life.  Gorges, shepherd trails and ancient Buddhist monasteries that are still alive.
