Description of the event

Vladimír's bookshop Serius and the PLAC association, with financial support from the Czech Architecture Foundation and the statutory city of Jablonec nad Nisou, cordially invite you to the 69th lecture in the Printed Architecture series.

Our guest this time will be Professor Ladislav Lábus, who will present his publication Domy volným veršem (Houses in Free Verse). Architect Ladislav Lábus.

Ladislav Lábus is one of the best contemporary Czech architects, and his work has been highly respected and popular for several decades, not only among professionals.

This lavishly illustrated publication summarises his work to date, including acclaimed new buildings such as the latest apartment buildings in Prague's Modřany and Smíchov districts, the remarkable social services centre in Český Krumlov, and exceptional renovations such as Prague's Langhans Palace, for which he received the Grand Prix of the Community of Architects, Edison's transformer stations in Prague and the Prague Castle Riding Hall.

The rich photographic documentation of his projects is interwoven with texts by his colleagues and friends, who readably and eruditely map the individual areas of Lábus's extensive work, but also devote attention to his long-standing pedagogical work and the transformation of the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University under his leadership as dean.

Authors of the publication: Matúš Dulla (ed.), Václav Girsa (ed.), Petr Kratochvíl (ed.), Ladislav Lábus, Josef Pleskot (ed.), et al.
