Description of the event
The magician Drosselmeyer must rescue his nephew Hans-Peter, who has been transformed into the Nutcracker. The only way to free him is to defeat the Mouse King and find a girl who will love the Nutcracker. A spark of hope is ignited by young Clara, who appears at the Christmas party. With a little magic, the Christmas gathering turns into a fantastic adventure leading to the Sugar Plum Fairy in the Kingdom of Sweets. The production was created in 1984 for the Royal Ballet by Peter Wright, based on the original choreography by Lev Ivanov. With the immortal music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and the beautiful scenery of Julie Trevelyan Oman, The Nutcracker is a wonderful Christmas experience for audiences of all ages.
