Get creative with Anna Polanska

A lecture from the series Be Creative with… will introduce the work of Anna Polanská.

Teacher and glass artist Anna Polanská will present the creative processes on the basis of which she realizes her glass objects.

Three of them are presented at the current exhibition Bilance 2024.

Anna Polanská works with molten glass, from which she creates applied shapes processed by the grinding technique. By gradually removing the glass mass, she defines the resulting form, characterized by the marks left by the grinding wheels. The final optical properties are not the main goal, but the natural outcome of the pursuit of shape. The starting quality for Anna Polanská's objects is primarily plasticity.
Her work is closely linked to her interest in landscape and man and their basic mutual relationships. By striving to find archetypal shapes in her objects, she resembles a prehistoric creator in whose hands the fist wedge is born. .
