Description of the place

A popular beach on the western shore of the Jablonec reservoir, with gentle access to the water and facilities such as toilets, refreshments and playgrounds. The place is dominated by a giant metal fishing rod. This sculpture, artistically named Udice (Fishing Rod), is the work of sculptor Vratislav K. Novák, who also created the Metronome in Prague's Letná district. His "rod" at the Jablonec Dam is a tribute to Karel Hubáček, a passionate fisherman and architect of Ještěd.
