Days of clean air

The main programme is an educational show entitled "SMOKEMAN INTERVENES" presented by Jiří Horák, Ph.D., from the Energy Research Centre at the Technical University of Ostrava. Viewers will learn about the principles of proper heating in domestic heating systems (boilers, stoves, and fireplaces). The show also includes practical demonstrations in a mobile boiler room, and people can try out various experiments for themselves.

The event is intended for the general public, with two morning blocks focused on primary and secondary school pupils, who will learn a lot about the physical and chemical processes in the atmosphere. The audience will be involved in the lecture and a series of tasks will be prepared for them, where they can participate in measuring emissions, measuring flame temperature and other activities.

At the same time, there will be a presentation by the State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic, where you can obtain information about the New Green Savings subsidy programme, which offers funding for insulation, boiler replacement, solar and photovoltaic systems, and overall property renovations that bring energy savings. In cooperation with DDM Vikýř, there will also be workshops for children on the theme of the environment.

The event will take place outdoors; in case of inclement weather, it will be moved to the Eurocentrum building – exhibition pavilion.
