Oh, those women of ours

Ah, relationships… romantic, family, friendships, but also the relationship with oneself. They relentlessly hold up a mirror to us, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Some bring out the best in us, whilst others reveal our darker sides. Women – it’s bad with them, but even worse without them, as the classic saying goes. Men talk a lot about them, but in reality they understand very little about them.

Just like the trio of friends who have weathered three decades of ups and downs together. Does the well-known saying ‘silence is golden’ also apply to friendship? Bear witness to a theatrical tale in which an ordinary game of cards easily turns into a battle for truth and justice. Not only will the limits of friendship be put to the test, but so too will their own vulnerabilities. In this theatrical comedy, the stickler Max, the loner Pavel and the charming egotist Šimon will air their dirty laundry and reveal more than one secret.

Eric Assous’s original and deeply human comedy poses a number of pressing questions. To what extent do we really know the people around us? The truth is that when life gets a bit tough, we often get to know ourselves better too. Come and see for yourself whether friendship is more than just a lofty concept. Let yourself be swept away into the stratosphere of a long-standing friendship, where life’s events intertwine until they form a tangle of comical coincidences, unexpected blunders and shocking twists. Will truth, the instinct for self-preservation, or something else entirely prevail? And perhaps you’ll even recognise yourself, at least in part, in one of the main characters.

Thanks to the trio of brilliant actors – Karel Roden, Juraj Kemka and Marián Roden, alternating with Ernest Čekan – put your own instinct for making the right decision to the test. The play is directed by Jakub Nvota. This comedy, based on a French original, is presented by the Povalač Theatre. The successful stage play was also adapted for the big screen in 2015.

The event is organised by Entre Events s.r.o.
