The country where we are

In the interior of the island of Brač, a group of women live in an unusual community far from civilisation. They reject private property and any form of hierarchy – they make decisions through direct democracy, share the land, grow crops and strive to be as self-sufficient as possible. They face drought, the resulting shortage of water and resources, and other impacts of climate change. Each of them has fled their former life, and together they are trying to build a small, sustainable oasis. However, when the question of registering ownership in the land registry arises, the very survival of the entire community is threatened.
