GALAXY DANCE COMPETITION

Galaxy Dance Competition is heading from Egypt to the Czech Republic

The Galaxy Dance Competition (GDC), an international dance competition founded in Egypt in 2024, is expanding its reach to Europe. Its Czech edition in 2026 is being organised by the arts agency ILMA AGENCY s. r. o., led by Mgr. Ilona Šulcová, who is becoming the official organiser of the competition in the Czech Republic.

The Galaxy Dance Competition brings together talented dancers, dance schools and renowned international judges. It offers participants the opportunity to showcase their choreographies, gain new experiences and forge connections across countries and dance styles.

The founder and main promoter of the competition is Hazem Zakaria, director and choreographer of the Academia de danza On Stage dance academy, based in Palma, Mallorca. An international organisational team comprising experts from Egypt and other countries is involved in preparing the event.

The Czech edition represents a further step in building a dance platform that connects Europe, the Middle East and other parts of the world. The organisers’ aim is to bring dancers and schools from across Europe to the Czech Republic and to create an environment for meeting, sharing experiences and celebrating dance together.

The competition’s mission is to support the development of young dancers through competitive opportunities, scholarships and artistic exchanges. The international jury and the participation of dancers from various countries offer not only the chance to compare skills, but also inspiration for further artistic growth.

For ILMA AGENCY, bringing the Galaxy Dance Competition to the Czech dance scene is both a significant opportunity and an honour. Together with its international partners, it aims to lay the foundations for a cultural event that will bring the dance community together and gradually establish itself as one of the leading international dance gatherings in the Czech Republic and Central Europe.
