Štěpán Rak: A Concert for a Friend

We invite you to a charity concert, which will take place on Wednesday 5 August at 6 pm at St Anne’s Church in Jablonec nad Nisou. The proceeds will be donated towards the treatment of a remarkable man, Mr Alfred Strejček.

The concert is part of the celebrations marking the 85th birthday of this extraordinary artist, who, even after a struggle of nearly nine years with paralysis of his limbs, has not only refused to give up his fight, but is spreading the three graces from Paul’s Epistle to the Corinthians – Faith, Hope and Love – with all the more joy.

Guitar virtuoso and Professor Emeritus at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, Štěpán Rak, will perform both well-known pieces from his repertoire and several brand-new compositions; above all, however, you will hear a selection from his new album ‘ZNOVU’, which he has dedicated to his friend and artistic companion, Alfred Strejček.
