Workshop: Jablonec Button

Discover the uniqueness of our town in a fun way and take home a decoration you’ve made yourself. In the final workshop of our series, we’ll focus on the tradition that has made Jablonec famous around the world – the legendary Jablonec button.

You’ll try your hand at burning traditional button designs into wooden discs, which can be used as Christmas decorations. There’ll also be an opportunity to create your own print.

The event is part of the year-round series of workshops “Jablonec and its Phenomena” led by instructor Pavel Zícha.

The workshop is open to artists of all ages, from 9 to 99. It takes place on Saturday 28 November in the attic of the Jana and Josef V. Scheybal House, from 9 am to 5 pm in two-hour sessions. Each session has a capacity of 15 people; advance booking is required.

The creative workshop is organised by the Tourist Information Centre in Jablonec nad Nisou (Kultura Jablonec, p. o.). Organised to mark the 160th anniversary of Jablonec’s elevation to town status as part of the “Jablonec and its Phenomena” project, with financial support from the Liberec Region.
