TRENDS.DESIGN.PRODUCTION

The main exhibition of the Jablonec 2026 International Triennial of Glass and Jewellery presents, in one place, current products from domestic and foreign companies, represented by a branch or agent in the Czech Republic, specialising in both manual and automated production. This is not a presentation of one-off pieces or prototypes, but a genuine commercial range from the last three years. Whilst the selection of exhibitors is the work of the curators, the exhibitors themselves choose the products that represent them in the TRENDS, DESIGN and PRODUCTION categories. Whilst the first category focuses on a range in tune with current design or consumer trends, the second on production with high aesthetic added value, and the third on commercially successful goods. An international expert panel, comprising renowned theorists and practitioners, has awarded prizes to the best collections. The aim of this concept is to offer visitors an alternative to design shows, which, from a commercial and export perspective, present only a small, albeit important, part of contemporary Czech glassmaking.

The best products were awarded medals by a five-member international committee comprising experts from the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Spain and Slovakia; the medals were produced for the museum by the Jablonec School of Applied Arts. Museum visitors will also award their own prize, as they can vote throughout the duration of the exhibition until 20 September 2026.
