Museum Night under Ještěd 2026

This year’s Museum Night under Ještěd in Jablonec will be held primarily in the spirit of celebrating the 160th anniversary of Jablonec nad Nisou’s elevation to city status. The programme will therefore offer not only extraordinary night-time experiences, but also a look back at the history and transformations of this region.

On Friday 22 May from 6 pm to 11 pm, the region’s cultural institutions will open their doors to visitors at this unusual evening time, offering them special tours and programmes. Under the shared motto “Museums connect a divided world”, they will once again become places where generations, cultures and experiences come together, and where mutual understanding can be sought. Museum Night is therefore not just an ordinary visit – its unique atmosphere creates a space for sharing stories, bringing people together and exchanging different perspectives on the world. The State Museum of Glass and Jewellery in Jablonec nad Nisou will offer creative workshops for families with children, featuring bracelet-making or sandblasting glasses with Jablonec motifs (until 10 pm). Exhibitions as part of the Jablonec 2026 International Triennial of Glass and Jewellery and the permanent exhibitions will be open; you can explore them with the quiz ‘Jablonec nad Nisou from its beginnings to the present day’. The opening hours of the State Museum of Glass and Jewellery in Jablonec nad Nisou as part of Museum Night under Ještěd are from 6 pm to 11 pm. The accompanying programme ends at 10 pm. Admission is free. The event follows on from International Museum Day, which is celebrated annually on 18 May, and forms part of the Museum Nights Festival.
