FYTEX Day Camp

The 7th year of a successful summer day camp for children aged 9–13, which focuses on experimenting with and discovering the laws of physics and technology.

Who is the camp for:

For children aged 8–13 who are creative, motivated and active, with an interest in the natural sciences – particularly physics and technology – who can leave their mobile phones in their rucksacks and want to develop their own thinking and intuition through inquiry-based learning.

Where will the camp take place:

In the safe environment of Pivovarská Primary School in Jablonec nad Nisou and at the adjacent sports ground. In a classroom equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. The children will have access to a sufficient number of activity kits for individual work and work in small groups, where they can practise working as part of a team.

How we work:

We foster self-confidence, technical independence, a willingness to experiment and an active, inquisitive approach. We take an individualised approach to each child and nurture their talents. That is why we also have assistants who can advise and help those who might not feel confident enough to carry out an experiment on their own or who need a ‘helping hand’.

The camp will help children to discover and test their own abilities and to explore future study and career options.

IMPORTANT:

THE PROGRAMME IS INDICATIVE. We adapt it to the participants. Children can attend the camp repeatedly and will always have something to do, as they can always tackle more challenging tasks. We regularly update the programme.

What will happen at the camp:

We will work in small groups. For some activities, children will work independently. Every day, the children will also spend time relaxing outdoors and stretching their limbs through interesting sporting and physical activities. We will follow a pre-prepared and tried-and-tested programme, but we will also improvise depending on the situation, the children’s individual abilities and interests.
