VLADIMÍR MERTA "80", J. Hrubý, O. Fencl and Hromosvod

He is supported on stage by his faithful friend, the pianist and guitarist Ondřej Fencl, who is half his age. The second half of the evening will be dominated by Jan Hrubý's violin in songs by V. Mišík and M. Prokop, accompanied by Fencl's band Hromosvod, which will also add something from its own repertoire.

Veteran Merta, who is very pleased with his fresh album cycle Nejisté jistoty (Uncertain Certainties, the fourth part of which was recently released), shows again and again that he is a seeker and guardian of a sharp mind, that he does not belong in the scrap heap, and that he has something to say not only through his old hymns. However, it is precisely these cult songs from the 70s and 80s that form the basis of the set list for the current tour, including Astrolog, Harmonie, Chtít chytit vítr, Vzdálené výstřely, K pětadvaceti, Začouzené sklíčko...

In the second part of the evening, legendary matador Jan Hrubý will join Ondřej Fencl's band Hromosvod. The large band (two violins, guitars, keyboards, bass, drums) will perform some of the greatest classics, which would be hard to imagine without Hrubý's magical bows - Špejchar blues, Variace, Funebráci, Sladké je žít, Astrolog, Yetti Blues, Doteky, Velikej hever, Hudba pro nalezené harmonium... All with his brilliant violin in the foreground. The indefatigable Hrubý has celebrated his 77th birthday, but he's still a youngster on stage!
