Runners - Ivo Škuta

We are all runners. Some run fast, some slowly. Some stop along the way, some take a detour, but we all have the same goal.

The simplified silhouettes of runners on the mural, inspired by pictograms or characters from city navigation, are a kind of life allegory, which Ivo Škuta portrayed with monochromatic colors in his favorite techniques of acrylic and spray. Ivo conceived the display cases as a finish line for runners, where their efforts will be completed. Ivo Škuta is a distinctive Ostrava painter, whose visual language is completely unique and disarming, bringing a welcome refreshment to the Jablonec environment.

Ivo Škuta (*1989) is a Czech painter and illustrator, a graduate of the Painting Studio at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ostrava under the guidance of doc. František Kowolowski. In his work, he combines acrylic, spray, airbrush and relief structures, creating playful, ironic and visually rich stories that, upon closer inspection, often reveal layers of sadness or social criticism.
