The original building from the 1970s was originally used as a medical facility for local sports clubs. Over time, it lost its beauty and began to deteriorate.

After many years of searching for a suitable space for the popular martial art of judo, the city came up with the idea of placing an arena for young judo players in the extension of the original dilapidated building.

This idea resulted in a spacious superstructure made of wooden trusses and a magnificent view of the Ještěd Ridge. The extension is also reflected in the connecting neck, which is elegantly hidden behind aluminium sunroofs. The two existing floors have also been renovated, the first of which houses the gym and exercise rooms and the second of which houses the changing rooms and office space.
