Description of the place

The history of the Municipal Theatre in Jablonec nad Nisou began in 1906, when the foundation stone of the building was ceremoniously laid. The theatre opened to the public in September of the following year. The highlight of the gala evening was the comedy Husarská horečka (Hussar Fever). The interior of the theatre is also interesting.
The building contains 114 original Art Nouveau chandeliers and wall lamps. Currently, the theatre offers six subscription groups focusing on drama, music, fairy tales for children, performances for students, opera and ballet. We also organise exhibitions, vernissages and special performances and programmes for schools.
